Beryl McMillan -Vice Chairman 58th Zonta International Convention
“Melbourne went above and beyond its call of duty to welcome Zontians. The City of Melbourne hosted a Civic Reception at the Melbourne Town Hall to pay tribute to the work done by Zonta International. Traditional aboriginal land owners, the Wurundjeri People, also welcomed Zontians to their country, conveying their message both verbally and through the haunting sounds of the didgeridoo. Delegates were amazed at how warm and friendly the people were. There was even a welcome from Milton the Koala from Ballarat Wildlife Park, who in turn was treated like a celebrity.”
Monique Bolognini – Switzerland
“I've been to Australia before but never Melbourne. The stand out point for Melbourne would have to be the people. They are so happy, friendly, appreciative and helpful everywhere you go. More so than in any other city in Australia.
Melbourne is so clean, everywhere you go is clean. It's also a very safe city. I have felt so secure here, even walking around at night you feel completely safe. The convention centre is a very comfortable centre, well set out and appears to be very organised and efficient. Its locality is great, near so many hotels.
I am staying at Crown Promenade which is a beautiful hotel. The view from my room is superb, the hotel is so modern and so well furnished. My Melbourne experience has been wonderful.”
Sarma Balasubramanaia – Chicago
“This is my first time in Melbourne and it is a very nice city. It is exceptionally clean and well organised. The trams are excellent, such a convenient way to get around and beautifully run. The City Circle tram is fabulous and such
a great idea.
Having come to Melbourne for the IACAPAP Conference has sparked my interest and I would definitely consider it as a holiday destination now. I think Melbourne is a superb city, I think Melbourne should hold the next Olympics!
For the size of this meeting the convention centre has been great. Its location is so convenient; you can walk anywhere you need to go.” |
